Host Guide

How to use your host workspace: add a listing, keep your calendar up to date, answer requests and get paid.

1

Getting around

The host workspace has one menu. On a computer it is the green panel on the left; on a phone it is the bar at the bottom and the Menu button.

Main

  • Today – what needs your attention right now.
  • Listings – your properties and drafts.
  • Calendar – availability of each property.
  • Reservations – guest requests and stays.
  • Messages – conversations with guests.
  • Add listing – starts a new property.

Host settings

  • Host profile – what travellers see about you.
  • Accounts & earnings – where your bookings are paid out.
  • Personal details & password – your name, phone, password and billing details.

Bottom of the menu

  • Slovenčina / English – changes the language of the workspace.
  • Switch to Travel – opens your traveller account.
  • Return to Web – goes back to the Putko home page.

Tip: A number next to Reservations is the count of requests waiting for your reply. A number next to Messages is the count of unread messages.

Today

The first screen you see. It collects everything that is waiting for you, so you do not have to check each section.

What it can show

  • Finish setup – a listing that is not published yet.
  • Waiting for your reply – open guest requests.
  • Calendar needs attention – a connected calendar that failed to update.
  • Unread messages – guests who wrote to you.
  • Payouts – a payout account that is missing or not finished.

Note: If you have more properties, use the Property filter at the top to see one of them. Refresh loads the latest state.

Add a listing

Choose Add listing in the menu. Set aside about 10 minutes. The editor has nine steps and shows how much is complete.

The nine steps

  1. Basics – name and type of the property.
  2. Location – the address and position on the map.
  3. Rooms & Guests – capacity, bedrooms, beds and bathrooms.
  4. Amenities – everything the property offers.
  5. Photos – at least one photo; more and better photos bring more bookings.
  6. Pricing – the nightly price and other price settings.
  7. Policies – house rules, check-in and check-out.
  8. Availability & calendars – manual availability or calendars connected from other platforms.
  9. Payout Account – the account this property's bookings are paid out to.

Saving and publishing

  • The top of the editor shows Saved, Saving… or Unsaved changes. Save draft keeps your work so you can continue later.
  • You can leave at any time. The listing stays in Listings as a draft and opens at the step where you stopped.
  • When every step is complete, choose Review and publish. Publish Review lists anything still missing and shows a preview for guests.
  • Publish Listing sends the listing live.

Important: A listing goes live on its own once the account it pays out to is verified. Until then it stays ready but hidden from travellers.

Manage your listings

Listings shows every property with its status and setup progress.

Statuses

  • Setup in progress – some steps are still missing.
  • Ready to publish – all steps are complete; review and publish it.
  • Awaiting approval – Putko is checking the listing.
  • Visible to travellers – the listing is live.

What you can do

  • Open a listing to change any step: text, photos, prices, rules or the payout account.
  • Filter the list by status when you have many properties.
  • Delete listing removes the property and its setup progress permanently. This cannot be undone.

Calendar

Every listing has its own calendar. Open Calendar and pick the property.

  • Switch between Month and List view.
  • Add your own dates blocks nights you do not want to offer, for example for family or a booking from elsewhere.
  • Blocked dates lists every upcoming block. Unblock opens the nights for guests again.
  • Each block says where it came from: reserved (a Putko reservation), blocked by you, or a connected calendar.

Note: Nights reserved through Putko are managed in Reservations, and nights imported from a connected calendar are managed in that other calendar. They cannot be unblocked here.

Connect calendars (Airbnb, Booking.com)

If you also offer the property elsewhere, connect the calendars in both directions so the same night cannot be booked twice. You will find this under the calendar of each property.

Import: bring bookings from another platform into Putko

  1. On the other platform, copy the calendar export link (iCal link).
  2. In Putko open Calendar, pick the property and find Connected calendars.
  3. Choose Add link, give it a name such as Booking.com and paste the link.
  4. Choose Connect calendar. The dates are imported right away and then updated about every three hours.

Export: send Putko dates to another platform

  1. In the same place find Export this calendar.
  2. Choose Copy to copy the link.
  3. On Airbnb, Booking.com or another platform, paste it where they ask for a calendar to import.

Other options

  • Edit or Remove changes a single link.
  • Switch to manual only pauses all links; only the dates you block yourself count. Reconnect calendars turns them back on.
  • Disconnect all calendars removes every link at once.
  • The same links are also in step 8 of the listing editor.

Important: Other platforms read the export link on their own schedule, which can take a few hours. After connecting, check both calendars once to be sure the dates match.

Reservations

All guest requests and stays for your listings. Requests that need your reply are shown first.

States

  • Requests – waiting for your answer.
  • Upcoming – accepted stays that have not started.
  • Staying now – guests who are at the property.
  • Completed, Declined, Cancelled – finished history.

Answer a request

  1. Open the request to see the dates, number of guests, total price and the guest's message.
  2. Choose Accept to confirm the stay. The nights are blocked in the calendar of that property.
  3. Choose Decline if you cannot host. A declined request cannot be reopened.
  4. You can add a note for your own records when you answer.

Good to know

  • Cancel stay cancels an accepted stay and opens the nights again. This cannot be undone.
  • Add your own dates blocks nights from this screen too; you can add a guest name or a note.
  • Filter by Property and by State to find a reservation quickly.

Important: You need a payout account before you can accept a request, otherwise there is nowhere to send the money. Setting it up takes about 5 minutes.

Messages

Questions from guests about your listings and stays.

  • Open a conversation to read it and reply.
  • Unread conversations are marked, and their count is shown in the menu.
  • Use the Property filter to see messages for one listing.
  • If a message fails to send, you can send it again from the conversation.

Tip: A quick reply makes a booking much more likely.

Accounts & earnings

Where your bookings are paid out, and what Stripe still needs from you.

Set up payouts

  1. Choose Connect a Stripe account. Stripe opens in the same window and returns you to Putko when you finish.
  2. Stripe asks for your identity details, or company details if you host as a business.
  3. Add the bank account (IBAN) where payouts should arrive.
  • You can use one default account for all properties, or a different account for a property (step 9 of the listing editor).
  • The same screen shows your earnings and payouts.

What travellers may see about you as a host.

  • Public name – your first name or the name of your place.
  • Profile photo.
  • About you – who you are and what guests can expect.
  • Languages you can host in.
  • How quickly you reply.

Note: Choose Save profile to keep the changes. The preview at the top shows how it looks.

Personal details & password

Your identity and how Putko reaches you. This is not shown on your listings.

  • Details – first name, last name, phone, gender and address. Choose Edit, then Save changes.
  • Email cannot be changed here, because it links your host and traveller accounts.
  • Password and security – change your password.
  • Billing details – as a business (with IČO) or as an individual. Putko needs them to issue invoices for its fee.

Tip: Use a password of at least 8 characters with letters, numbers and symbols.
