Stays in Liptov

Liptov is one of Slovakia's most visited regions, with places to stay beside the ski slopes and by the water. Demänovská dolina with the Jasná ski resort is the first choice in winter; in summer it is the starting point for the Low Tatras ridge and the Demänovská caves.

Families usually pick Liptovský Mikuláš and the Liptovská Mara lake area, close to the Tatralandia water park, or Bešeňová with its thermal pools. Smaller villages below the Western and Low Tatras offer quiet cottages, and the UNESCO-listed village of Vlkolínec is near Ružomberok.
